What Are Your Staples????
There are certain foods that I would not want to be without in my house on the Zone. Ground turkey, mozzarella cheese, cashews and lots of fruits and veggies! I would love to hear what your staples are so that we can hear about new foods we may not be trying! Post thoughts to comments.
Some of my staples are eggs, bacon, zucchini and spinach. You can use zucchini as a substitute for noodles(spaghetti, lasagna) I even slice it thin and use it as a "crust" for pizza.
ReplyDeleteEggs (!), apple butter, almonds, lots and lots of veg. Oh and booze! Lots of booze -- just kidding.
ReplyDeleteMy staples would be the same. I would add pita bread, low carb tortillas, shrimp, chicken, tuna, applesauce and Fage yogurt to the list! Oh and olive oil and garlic! Mmmm. Real nice on sweaty workouts! :)
ReplyDeleteEggs
ReplyDeleteAlmond Butter
Raw Almonds
Sliced Turkey
Apples and Oranges
Fish Oil
I think I could survive on just those things if need be. It'd be a boring set of meals but I could do it.
Applesauce, low card tortilla, eggs, mozz cheese, cashews....these are a few of my favorite thngs!
ReplyDeleteYep!! And Cottage Cheese, Hard Boiled Eggs, Orowheat Light (2 slices, 1 carb block) Those Eva Egg Whites. Strawberries & Blueberries!! OH! A tip- When you can get them in season and a lot less expensive, just freeze them on your own, and you still can have fresh organic berries at your fingertips.
ReplyDeleteApples, cottage cheese, almonds, broccoli, spinach, chicken breasts.
ReplyDeleteOne fantastic timesaver is to bake up chicken breasts when you buy them and then you've got cooked chicken at the ready any time. Straight in the oven in a baking pan, oil and herbs aren't even necessary, although they are nice. Nicer than deli meat in a pinch.
