Miracle Drug???

There is so much research on Omega 3 fatty acids out there right now, that I could make this post go on, and on, and on with all the scientific findings. However, more valuable to all the people reading this post, are the real life results that people have gotten or not gotten from supplementing with fish oil. I would love to hear from you on this subject, and get your opinions about the benefits or lack of benefits you have experienced.
Post thoughts to comments.

  1. This is the one part of the zone that I'm having trouble buying into. I bought some capsules, but I haven't been great about remembering to take them. I would be curious to hear how others feel.

  2. Kelly,
My personal experience with fish oil has been that when I am consistent with it I find that I recover MUCH quicker from the hard workouts (which is pretty much everyday). I highly recommend going with a good brand like Nordic Naturals because quality counts as far as Omega 3 goes. Just my 2 cents and I too will be curious to hear from others on this one!

  3. Thanks Michele. I'm glad to hear you've had good results. I'm very curious to see if I can feel a difference if I become more diligent. Where can I get Nordic Naturals?

  4. The Herb Room on Mission Street sells it, that's where I get mine anyway. I find I am much less sore when I take the fish oils.

  5. I've been taking them regularly for a couple weeks now. Can't say that I've noticed much difference, but it may be because I have changed a number of other things about my diet and exercise at the same time (all good changes). It may also be because I have been following the Nordic Naturals Omega 3 Rx of 2 softgels per day, which is 2g. But Dr. Sears recommends 5 - 10g per day in "The Soy Zone". So maybe I need to bump up the dosage. How much are others taking?

  6. Arturo- I take 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I increased my dose more for recovery purposes, but it has worked well so far.
