Turkey Sausage Stir Fry

I used Italian turkey sausage in this to give it a little extra flavor, but you could use any protein, or keep it vegetarian and use it strictly as your carbs. I sauteed the sausage and onions together until done and added in the vegetables.
Turkey Sausage Stir Fry- 3 blocks
1 1/2 turkey sausage links uncased and crumbled-(3 blocks protein/ 3 blocks fat)
1/2 cup chopped onion-(1 block carb)
1 cup zucchini (1/2 block carb)
1 1/2 cups broccoli (1/2 block carb)
1 red pepper cut into strips (1/2 block carbs)
1 cup snow peas (1/2 block carbs)

I started to seriously zone about 3 weeks ago and I am having a problem eating the required amount of carbohydrates each meal. I have to eat about 6 blocks of carbs per meal (five meals a day) And I cannot physically eat that much green vegetables, so I have to resort to eating higher GI foods like bread. My protein intake is easier because I supplement.

My question is this: is it better to try to stay in the zone even with non-top quality carbs, or to fall out of the zone and not eat the higher GI foods.

Thanks!

Rory-

How many blocks per day are you at? There will come a point (especially with men because they have higher blocks) when you just can't eat enough fruits or veggies to meet your needs. At that point you should be adding in some higher GI foods to balance out your blocks per meal. Make those choices smart one's. Feel free to add in some bread just make it whole grain or pita bread. Hope this helps.

I am eating 31 blocks a day. I try to eat it in five meals. I will definitely add in some pita bread, I didn't think about that. The bread is key though as I would never get to the number of blocks I need to eat per meal.

Thanks Michele!
