Pita Pizza and Salad

There are endless options for toppings on a pita pizza, so pick what you like. This one has turkey pepperoni, red bell peppers, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Pita Pizza (1/2 block per slice)
2 pieces of pizza (1 block carbs, 1 block protein/ 2 blocks fat)
2 cups mixed green salad with kidney beans, feta cheese, whole wheat croutons, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to coat (2 blocks carbs/ 1 block protein/ 1 block fat)
Post thoughts to comments.

Nice pizza!

Good news to report. I've had 3 days of perfect measurement, and I mean perfect. Monday: 17 blocks. Tuesday: 19 blocks. Wednesday: 17 blocks. I'd say I'm on a roll, but unfortunately, we all know what tomorrow is. Still, it was important for me not to pull the "well I'll just start on Monday" thing. Having three solid days before Thanksgiving gives me the prep and will power to get back on track on Friday.

Well, maybe Saturday. There will be leftovers after all.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Great to hear Jon. I'm on Day 27 now of the strict Robb Wolf shopping list. As today is Thanksgiving, when I started the "Shopping List," I gave myself Thanksgiving as a contractual cheat day. Robb's shopping list is not proscriptive when it comes to alcohol, but I just assumed that it was on the prohibited list. Last night I box jumped right off the wagon and drank way more wine than I should have. The interesting thing is that instead of thinking I'm a total failure, there was 26 days of clean eating. Because today is my cheat day I had an english muffin after a run this AM (penance). I have been writing down everything I eat which I did this morning too. This got me thinking, because I don't plan on always avoiding the stuff on the "prohibited" what the macronutrient make up of my breakfast is and how close to Zone compliance I am. I had 1/2 cup egg whites + 1 egg scrambled in 3 tsp EVOO + 1 skim string cheese sandwiched between my English Muffin and 1/2 a cantaloupe. As I type this out, I realize that my blocks aren't equal, I had an extra carb block. But because I ate this about 15 minutes post run, the extra carb block won't kill me!

I am looking forward to the traditional Turkey Day "creamed" and candied vegetables. I'm going to the gym tomorrow for the Fat Friday WOD and I can't even begin to imagine what fun that will be.

Happy Thanksgiving guys. Today I am Thankful for this forum to share nutrition experiences and crossfit along with the other substantive things in my life like family and work.

Cheers,
David

Awesome post Dave. You and I were communing over breakfast today. Even though today is Thanksgiving, I also decided to "Zone it" in the morning to minimize the damage. So I had my standard shake (milk, cherries today, and whey protein), and then early afternoon snack was some crackers and cheese (zoned). Now I'm on my way to the disaster, with pecan and pumpkin pies in hand!

Have a great weekend!

Jon
